Comcast has been unbelievably attentive to service. I even got a signed apology
card for recent rough spots they quickly corrected. Verizon, after I anticipated
a food fight over my request to drop a little used but costly unlimited data
service, cheerfully obliged. The only hold out is MCI who appears to be one of
the few still outsourcing off shore. They are terrible finding every way to
confuse a situation and delay termination of service or any changes that will
reduce their billing.
As long as you don't depend on their email service. Luckily I subscribe to
newsguy so I use your email service. However important emails to my comcast
accounts were routinely rejected and I would receive an letters in the
postal mail telling me email sent TO comcast was rejected. When I called them
the techs said 'well we need the original rejected emails to fix this' of course
fortune 500 companies are not going to hunt down rejected emails for a customer.
I began with the Internet in 1993. The early ISPs were notorious for
losing, not receiving, or causing you to change your domain on E-mail.
After a period of constant frustration I started using Newsguy as my
primary E_Mail. I have never looked back.

Another key point. As I travel led around the world I always knew I
could use the Newsguy SMTP server (smtp.newsguy.com) to send mail.
Many times this was the only way to get mail out without using web
mail.
Even now with some services blocking port 25, you can still use 8025
or 587. That's allowed me to stay in contact all over the world while
still using my standard mail client.

More than 10 years with the same E_mail address. I wonder how many
people can say that, outside of the mind numbing AOL!
